Description: HJ431 is defined as fused type fluxes with high-manganese high silicate and low fluorine elements. Color in brown to light yellow with vitreous granules 8-40 meshes in size. Fluxes are suitable for use with both AC & DC. When applying D.C. filler wire will be connected to electrode positive (EP). Fluxes have good welding technology behavior.
Field of application: Fluxes match filler wire (i. e. SU08A、SU26,and SU34 etc.) of which may be used for welding of mild-steel low alloyed steel (16Mn, 15MnV) structures for examples, boilers, ships, pressure vessels and Electro-slag welds as well as copper welds.
Typical compositions of fluxes in: (%)
| SiO2+MnO | CaF2+CaO | Al2O3+MgO | S | P |
| 74-82 | 10-14 | 9-12 | ≤0.035 | ≤0.04 |
Mechanical properties of deposited metal:
(Accl. to GB/T5293 S43A0UMS-SU08A )
| Test items | ó b Mpa | ó s Mpa | δ 5 % | Akv(J) 0℃ |
| Standard Value | 430-600 | ≥330 | ≥20 | >27 |
| Test Value | 505 | 380 | 30 | 90 |
Remarks:
1.Before welding, fluxes need to be baked for two(2)hours at around 250℃.
2.Removal of rust, oil, dirt, water, impurities etc in welding-areas.
